One of my favorite hip hop tracks of 2011. Produced by The J.U.S.T.I.C.E League. This is a track from the Thug Motivation 103: Hustlerz Ambition album.

I wake up and feel empty
Shit make you wanna squeeze your Glock ’til it’s empty
I’m already standin’ on the edge, so don’t tempt me
Fake motherf-ckers envy

R.I.P Heavy D 1967 – 2011

On November 9, 2011, in Music, Video, by djtriumph

Sad to hear about the passing of Heavy D. at such an early age of 44. He had a unique fun style as an artist and left us with some classics as the producer of a few timeless records for Soul for Real. For anyone that was a fan of 90′s hip hop and R&B, this guy was a pioneer in his own right and the self proclaimed “Overweight Lover” could dance his ass off.

Just a month ago he performed for the first time in 15 years, and he did not loose a step. Check out his performance here:

BET October 2011 Performance

Also, here are some of my favorite songs from him and The Boyz as well as two of the classics he produced for Soul for Real in 1995.

Heavy D & The Boyz – Now That We Found Love ft. Aaron Hall

Heavy D & The Boyz – Nuttin’ But Love

Heavy D & The Boyz – Is It Good To You

Heavy D. & The Boyz – We Got Our Own Thang

Soul For Real – Candy Rain

Soul For Real – Every Little Thing I Do

Your music will live on forever through fans and djs.

Drake ft. Lil Wayne – The Motto

This is a bonus cut from his sophomore album “Take Care”. Produced by T-Minus, the track is laced with clapping, caffeinated beats, uber-lows, and sub-bass notes…BAY AREA sound.
